Due to health problems, CJ Henderson will not be able to be part of In-CON-Ceivable. CJ is a great part of the vendor world, and has been for many years. His smile and great personality made him one of the best guests a convention could have. I am proud to call him a friend. We at In-CON-Ceivable would like to send out all our hopes and prayers to him and his family in this tough time. At In-CON-Ceivable we will have a table for CJ, on it will be his picture and a jar. The jar is for anyone who wants to give a little to help pay for some of CJ's many medical bills.
It is Spring! Love is in the air! So what better time to plan a romantic event then... in the late Summer?
One of our guests, Rusty Gilligan, is an ordained minister and will be happy to perform a wedding for you at In-CON-Ceivable 2014! All he charges is a small fee of $50.00, and then you can plan to hold a genera themed wedding (or renew your vows if you're already married) at our inaugural event!
You will need to make sure any legal paperwork you will require is in order prior to the weekend. (Click here for info on obtaining a marriage license in Northampton, MA.)
Anyone attending the wedding will also need to be registered to attend In-CON-Ceivable 2014*. Also, if this is something you would like to do, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can assure that space and time is set aside for your nuptials. (Both are limited, and quickly filling up with other events such as panels!)
One happy couple wed by Rusty at a past convention he attended.
* If you have a few guests, for example a lovable grandparent who could honestly care less about fantasy / sci-fi, who will only be coming for the wedding, when you contact us if you mention this we could negotiate a few complementary day passes. The number of such passes, if given, will be limited and are not to be abused.
In other news, it was forgotten to mention in last week's missive that the free weekend registration for when we reached 300 Facebook likes was awarded! Congratulations to Richard Rooks II!
We'll do it again when we reach 400. So if you haven't already, head on over to our Facebook page and like us! (And if you have done so, tell your friends and family!)
Coming soon: a fashionable new way to show your love for In-CON-Ceivable!
In-CON-Ceivable 2014 t-shirts!
How can you get one of these sweet articles of clothing? There are a couple of ways.
In the near future, In-CON-Ceivable will have a presence at select other New England area conventions and events, where you can meet us, register to attend our event, and purchase one of our t-shirts! (Details on what conventions and events you can meet us at will be available as soon as we can provide them to you.)
Or, soon the shirts will be able to be ordered direct from this website!
The t-shirts will cost $20.00, and be available in multiple sizes. A small shipping fee will apply if ordered online.
Be sure to get your In-CON-Ceivable 2014 t-shirt! Wear your inconceivability with pride! Any profits will be put directly into making the convention as great an event as possible!
There will be an update coming later today. It may just be coming a bit after what is, in the most technical sense, the morning. (Darn us and our love of alliterative titles!) So be on the look out for something later today!
Good morning, everybody! Nothing much to report this week. But while most of what we are up to currently is the just the convention-planning equivalent of the "daily grind," do rest assured that we remain hard at work to bring you the best event we can!
Meanwhile, as of this writing the Facebook is up to 296 likes. Only four more to go until we give away a free Weekend Registration! Hopefully next week we'll be able to announce a winner.
Finally, since it is a light news week, the maintainer of this website thought he'd take a second to self-promote another website he recently started just for fun. The layout may be extremely familiar to those visiting this website. (It was a good layout? Why not reuse it?) The content, however, is dedicated to original starship designs in the style of classic movie era Star Trek. And, of course, one of the featured ships is the U.S.S. Inconceivable!
That will be all for now. May you all have a great week, In‑CON‑Ceivable fans! See you again next Monday.
Good Monday Morning, In-CON-Ceivable fans! We hope that any of you who celebrate the holidays mentioned in our last update did indeed have good ones!
We would like to take the time today to announce another of the vendors who will be joining us at our event: Full Coverage Writers! We're quite happy to have them joining us for our inaugural event. You can find out more about them on our Dealers page, or by visiting their own website.
Finally for today, just nine more likes needed on our Facebook page for one of those people to win a free Weekend Registration to attend In-CON-Ceivable 2014! If you haven't liked us yet, do so now so you don't miss out on your chance! If you have already liked us, tell your friends! Hopefully we will be able to announce a winner soon!
Hello, everybody. Sorry for no missive this past Monday; there wasn't anything of great import to say at that point this week. But we do have something to announce today that we thought was worth making a special update for rather then waiting until next Monday.
We have a new website address! You can now find this website by going to www.In-CON-Ceivable.com!
"But," you say, "I am looking at your website now. Otherwise, how am I reading this announcement?"
"That is an excellent point," we would counter. And the reason for that is because the old URL will still work, as well. So if any of you have bookmarks to our website, no need to update them! Everything should still work just fine.
So, why the change? Well, for anyone who doesn't have it bookmarked, our new URL should be a lot easier to remember then the old and lengthier one of http://in-con-ceivable-convention.weebly.com! Also, it will be a lot to share with your friends. (By the way, be sure to share it with all of your friends!)
Since we're writing anyways, we'll also take a second to remind everyone of the free Weekend Registration give-away if ourFacebook page reaches 300 likes. As of this writing, only 18 to go!
Finally, since we're currently in the middle of it, to any of you who celebrate Passover, enjoy! And since we will likely not be updating again until next Monday's missive, Happy Easter to those who celebrate that.
Hello, everybody! So, what is one thing that hasn't been talked about yet in too much detail? Panels.
Part of the reason this hasn't been talked about much yet is that a lot of it is still in flux. We've got lots of great ideas, and we're working to build those ideas into a fun schedule for all of you to enjoy. But we thought it was time we gave you a little bit of a sneak peak.
Most of our guests will be providing panels over the course of the weekend. For example, Authoress Heather Hutsell will be running a panel called "Being a Self-Promoted Author." The Epickiwii Belly Dance Troupe, in addition to performing, will be having a "Bellydancing 101" workshop. You'll be able to hear J.G. Hertzler talk about his experience acting in, amongst other things, variousStar Trek programs.
In addition, to help fill out the schedule we've had other people who have expertise in various genre related areas volunteer their services to offer us exciting panels on various topics of interest.
As the panel schedule gets closer to completion, we'll be sure to post it on the website for you all to see, so you can plan ahead for how you would like to spend your time at In-CON-Ceivable 2014!
In other news... Don't forget that in last week's missive, we announced that a free weekend registration will be given out once our Facebook page reaches 300 likes! We're still a bit shy of that, so there are still opportunities for you to be one of those likes and get a chance to win this for yourself! Or, if you've already liked us, be sure to tell your friends to do so! The sooner we reach 300, the sooner we can choose a winner! Find our Facebook page by clicking here.
Good morning, everyone! Two things for you, today.
First off, surveys have been sent out through Kickstarter to everyone who chose reward levels of $20.00 or more. So if this applies to you, be on the look out for them!
Secondly... we're having a promotion! And through it, one lucky person can get a free Weekend Registration to attend In-CON-Ceivable 2014!
What do you have to do to enter? Simple... Like us on Facebook!
We currently have 257 likes. When we get to 300 (only 43 more) one random lucky person from amongst those liking us will receive a complementary Weekend Registration to attend our event!
The organizers of In-CON-Ceivable 2014 and their immediate families can count towards the 300, but they are not eligible to receive this registration. Should such a person be the one randomly chosen, this will be put aside and another selection will be made.
Also, if the one selected happens to be someone who has already purchased a registration, the purchased regestration cannot be refunded. However, this just gives you a chance to bring a friend!
So head on over to Facebook and hit that "Like" button! Already like us? Tell all your friends!
Good morning, everybody! First of all, some Kickstarter business! Everyone who donated to our recent successful Kickstarter, and who chose from any of our reward levels, was entitled to have their name listed on our website. Thank you to all of you!
This list can be found by going to the Our Supporters page and scrolling down. The same list (minus the clickable links for those who wished to have them, as those are difficult to reproduce in a print medium) will be found in our Convention Program come August,
(And thank you also to the four people who donated but didn't choose from any of the levels. Just because you didn't wish for any reward doesn't mean we don't still wish to offer you our gratitude!)
In other Kickstarter news, for anybody who chose a reward level that included things above just the thank you listing on our website, expect to receive surveys sometime this week that will collect from you the information we need to fulfill our obligation to you.
Finally for today, spaces in the Dealers' Room are still available! Anyone interested in vending at out event, don't wait to send in your application! Information on how to do that can be found here.
We'll start introducing some more of the vendors we have currently lined up in the near future, so as to help wet your appetites for what goodies await you come August.
